Are you looking for new and innovative ways to excite and engage students in your discipline? Let the Amon Carter help! During this interactive workshop, museum educators break down and model visual literacy strategies, define shared authority and how it can work in the classroom, and demonstrate the value of infusing curriculum with images. Participants also learn about the educator and student programs at the Amon Carter and receive resources related to the museum’s collection and strategies offered.
Participants will receive two CPE hours in Fine Arts: Art—All Levels and Instructional Techniques—All Levels.
First-year and/or preservice teachers are encouraged to register as well as curriculum specialists and experienced teachers from homeschool or classroom settings who are looking for ways to refresh curriculum with images and learn about museum resources.
Space is limited; preregistration is required. Cancellations must be received forty-eight hours in advance of the program or a $25 fee will be charged; program materials will be mailed to absent teachers.
