All tours are always free! We offer public tours of our galleries on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. From special exhibitions to the Carter collection, and our library and archives, tours are a great way to get to know the Carter!

Art Discovery Guides

To be honest, you don’t need a special guide to navigate an art museum. But in case you’d like some direction, we’re here to help! Families and adults can grab these guides that lead you through an adventure in our galleries.

Children and their favorite adults can have fun exploring different themes in the galleries with activities that invite you to look, play, make, and do. These interactive bags are available from the Information Desk.

Family Pop-up Space

Looking for a place to get hands on or take a break? Drop by the Family Pop-up Space on the second floor to make, look, read, and play your way through art.

NOTE: The Family Pop-Up Space is temporarily closed through April 28, 2024. But you can still explore the galleries with Art Discovery Guides or ARTivity Totes, take a break in the Library digging into the Family Collection of books, and look for pop-up activities in the Atrium.

The Museum Shop at the Carter is the place to go for art-inspired jewelry, kids’ products, and books for readers of all ages—including many produced by the Carter. Whether you’re looking for a memento of your visit or a gift, stop by the Shop and take the Carter home with you!
